Association of Teachers of Technical Writing

ATTW is an active organization of teachers, researchers, and teacher/practitioners of technical communication across a range of academic and professional institutions. Its Executive Committee includes a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, immediate past president, past president, Technical Communication Quarterly journal editor, an information officer, a membership chair, and members at large.

Members of ATTW work in graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication, media, engineering, rhetoric, writing studies, and English, among other complimentary research programs. The organization includes –-- members from both U.S. and internationally based institutions.

ATTW produces Technical Communication Quarterly, a leading academic journal, which publishes research in varied areas including digital media, workplace politics, medical communication, law, engineering, pedagogy, visual rhetoric, and ethics, among many others.

Other publications include books, bibliographies, special issue series, the Bulletin --a semi-annual newsletter, and access to the Eserver Technical Communication library.

ATTW also provides a listserv and social media tools to encourage connection, conversation, and collaboration among members.

ATTW hosts an annual conference that precedes the Conference of College Composition and Communication's annual conference. It provides a full-day event of oral/visual presentations, poster presentations, workshops, book exhibits, activities of special interest groups, and the organizational report from its Executive Committee and multiple committee chairs.
