IPCC Student Poster Session

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Poster Session and Competition at IPCC 2012
Deadline: May 15, 2012

We invite proposals for Communicating Vision: Student Poster Session and Competition at the 2012 International Professional Communication Conference, 8‐10 October 2012, in Orlando, Florida. This session is open to all university students; there will be two categories of competition: undergraduate and graduate.

The session will showcase posters that visually illustrate and briefly explain technical projects or research studies related to the field of professional communication. Awards will be given in both the graduate and undergraduate categories, ranging from $250 to $750 each. Awards will be announced in early summer. Students will prepare paper posters of winning entries for display at the session in early fall.

To be considered for this poster session, students should submit the following items:

1. A PDF version of the poster (44 x 36 inches or 112 x 90 cm, landscape orientation, with all fonts embedded and subsetted) and

2. A 300‐word abstract about the poster explaining its technical or research topic, including an explanation of how the poster succeeds in communicating the message visually.

To submit these items for judging, students should create a Dropbox account (www.dropbox.com) and invite nicole.amare@gmail.com to share the folder containing the poster PDF and the abstract no later than
15 May 2012.

Poster PDFs will be judged at 44 x 36 inches or 112 x 90 cm landscape. The competition committee will provide instructions for printing winning entries. That information will be included in the notification sent to submitters of winning entries.
