Rationale:

This project was taught to a third-year professional writing class consisting of students from all majors of life. The theme of the course was "Social Media: Transforming Professional Communication Practices," and as such each project required a certain degree of participation in social media platforms. In this case, students were asked to create a Wordpress blog and envision themselves as an intern or new employee at a zoological rescue/rehabilitation center (obscure, I know, but I wanted to choose one organization for the entire class to help facilitate class discussions and have a more centralized and relevant common course content).

Bulletin's new format

The ATTW Bulletin now has a new format! Articles, announcements, CFPs, news stories, and teaching resources will now all be published using a blog-styled format.

That means you'll have quicker access to the material. Follow ATTW on your favorite social network or RSS reader, and you'll be notified as soon as this content is published.

Fall 2011

In response to the recent ATTW membership survey, the ATTW Bulletin editors have been working on some changes you’ll be seeing in the coming months. We hope these changes will enhance the Bulletin’s ability to serve our current members and help attract new ones.

The first change is the addition of Ryan Hoover as Bulletin Co-Editor.

The ATTW Website Redesign Progress Update

Pavel Zemliansky

Fall 2011

As ATTW members know, in late 2010, the organization’s website was redesigned and re-launched using a new software platform (the open source content management system Drupal). The main purpose of the redesign was to improve communication between the organization and its members by creating a more interactive online platform and though an increased use of social media.
